Booking the White House, Pentagon and the Capitol tour for foreigners

We will be in Washington on from the 18th of September and we wanted to do a tour one of these mighty things you can see below. Ideally we wanted to see the White House as a priority, then Capitol and Pentagon. We were worried about the tickets so we did a bit of research up front. Turns out that you can fairly easily book a tour of the Capitol or Pentagon but in order to tour White house, you have to write to a congressperson. Read on to learn how to get the tickets if you need them. It’s not that difficult.

New York by foot, ferry and a bike in 6 days by Wild Geckos

We took a bus from Boston and arrived in New York midday Sunday 11th of September. It was 15th anniversary of the 9/11 and I must say being here during this time and visiting the site a few days after the memorial services was a very emotional experience.

I understand that you could do and see way more during 6 days but we’ve learnt from our South East Asia adventure that when it comes to long term travel if you over do it you will have to take some time off at a later stage anyway. Also we just wanted to take it a bit slower and truly get the feel for the city. Walk the streets, feel the atmosphere and enjoy it as much as we can. New York, New York

screen-shot-2016-09-11-at-23-55-50This morning we were¬†travelling to New York.¬†The dream city, the¬†concrete jungle where dreams are made. My dream to see the city. We are driving through Upper Manhattan, Harlem and you can see the Manhattan skyline in the distance…¬†My dream is coming through!¬†I have checked¬†in at New York today!

It is also 15th anniversary of 9/11 tragedy. Our hearts go out to the families that lost their loved ones.

Boston in 3 days by Wild Geckos

Boston¬†was founded in 1630 by¬†Puritan settlers from England. It is one of the oldest cities in America and it is a place where America’s first US chocolate factory was created, first public park¬†and public school were¬†established (in 1635) and Harvard the¬†first American university has been¬†formed (in 1636). Boston is Massachusetts‚Äô capital and New England largest city. It’s known for its Colonial past, it’s role in the American Revolution, Atlantic coastline, changing autumn foliage and forested mountains.

We found the city to be incredibly relaxing and laid back. It’s true what some people say that Boston feels much more like a big town than a buzzing city. Beautiful parks, lovely university yards, stunning alleys and townhouses, hidden gems and lovely people. We had 3 full days to see this, click more to see our photo-story¬†of Boston.¬†Read More
